Silicon Valley Congressman Ro Khanna to Join Jonathan Jackson, Candidate for Congress, 1st Congressional District, for Discussion on Tech/Advanced Manufacturing Jobs, and Endorsement Session

Who:   Cong. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Jonathan Jackson, candidate for US Congress in the 1st Congressional District.

What:  Following a speaking engagement with students at Lindblom Math & Science Academy, Cong. Khanna and Jackson will hold an endorsement session and press conference before participating in a Manufacturing Roundtable Discussion. Cong. Khanna will endorse Jackson’s candidacy.

Background: Congressman Ro Khanna represents California’s 17th Congressional District, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, and is serving in his third term.

A graduate of the University of Chicago with a B.A. in Economics, while a student, Khanna walked precincts during Barack Obama’s first campaign for the Illinois Senate in 1996. Khanna received a law degree from Yale University. He served in President Barack Obama’s administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Rep. Khanna is the author of book Entrepreneurial Nation: Why Manufacturing is Still Key to America’s Future.

Jackson and Khanna will discuss the importance of bringing technology jobs, tech job training, workplace development, and advanced manufacturing opportunities to the Chicagoland region, including the 1st Congressional District.
